Attitude is Everything
Like everything else in life goal tending is all about attitude. My attitude towards hockey and performance in games is focused on hard work and practice, whether it is on ice or off the ice. If I give 100% in practice and in preparing to play, then my performance in games is just a reflection of my hard work on and off the ice. All I can do is "Do My Best". If I give everything I've got in practice, then I should expect positive results in games. It is easy to always give my best in games. Sometimes I am able to steal a game from a team that is more skilled than we are, but that is expected of me. One of my favorite hockey quotes is: "Do not expect anything, until you have given everything".
I believe results are delivered through:
Competition:
I hate goals against. I love a challenge, I love to compete and I especially love to win. As a Tier 2 Team we once lost to a Tier 1 Team 14 – 0. As the only goalie, I was in goal for every one of the goals against. That kind of experience creates a burning desire to get better, and to never have an experience like that again.
I come from a hockey family where my Grandmother even played with us on the lake. I guess that is where my passion for hockey began. I watch as much hockey as I can. I watch other girls teams play, I watch Women’s College games, the NWHL, NHL, OHL, and Men’s College hockey.
My favorite Goalies are:
Braden Holtby
Carey Price
Alex Rigsby
Andrei Vasilevskiy
